The Six Blades of Kojiro is one of the most engaging Mythic Tales available in Ghost of Tsushima. Starting in Act 2, this quest line invites Jin Sakai to test his martial prowess against a group of deadly rogue assassins. By tracking down five formidably skilled Straw Hat duelists across the Toyotama region, players unlock the final showdown against the legendary Kojiro himself.
Starting the Mythic Tale in Umugi Cove
To initiate this quest, travelers must head to Umugi Cove located on the southwestern coast of Toyotama. Inside the bustling settlement, you will meet Yamato the musician, who shares the terrifying history of Kojiro and his bloodthirsty followers. Listening to his tale officially reveals the quest markers across the map for the initial duels.
Locating the Five Straw Hat Assassin Duels
Players must travel to distinct landmarks across Toyotama to confront each of Kojiro's lieutenants. You will fight Yasumasa in the Drowning Marsh near Old Kanazawa Marsh and face Hirotsune among the Spider Lilies near the Field of the Equinox Flower. The remaining combatants include Kiyochika under a waterfall by the Musashi Coast, Tomotsugu along the shore at Cloud Ridge Shrine, and Kanetomo amidst autumn leaves east of Yamabushi's Peak.
Challenging Kojiro at Omi Monastery
Once all five assassins have been bested in single combat, return to Yamato in Umugi Cove to learn Kojiro's location. The final duel takes place inside a hidden cavern entrance located near the Omi Monastery in northern Toyotama. Defeating Kojiro requires exceptional parrying skill, quick dodging, and strategic stance switching to overcome his aggressive attack patterns.
Unlocking the Legendary Kensei Armor Rewards
Conquering the quest awards Jin the coveted Kensei Armor along with the Kensei Headband. This special gear set provides a massive boost to Resolve generation and drastically increases the damage and status debuffs applied by Ghost Weapons. Additionally, completing the mythic quest grants players a moderate legend increase to further empower Jin's journey.
